BARBIE IS REAL IN VOGUE PARIS

One of the cleverest campaigns related to the commodification of women`s bodies created in the finest details by stylists Claire Dhelens and Celia Azoulay. An out-of-the-box concept, where models pose just like the plastic dolls with stiff arms and neutral expressions. Except for the scan codes on the back.
Photographer Giampaolo Sgura came up with an ingenious idea for Vogue`s Paris January issue, and created a box-as-set playground for the models posing as real-life Barbies. The “Panoplies” editorial features models posing in designer doll ensembles: we`re talking Moschino (all pink everything), classic american woman by Ralph Lauren, Gucci– chich riding gal, a Miu Miu classy cheerleader, Dior (garden party fab), rock and roll by Saint Laurent, Chanel with ladylike pants and jacket, Homage to Spain by Dolce & Gabanna.
