And just when you thought magic can’t happen, it does! Shoes designer CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN has just launched his first baby shoe collection, and the designs are just adorable! In collaboration with friend Gwyneth Paltrow and her lifestyle brand, Goop, the duo worked on a capsule collection for the iconic footwear brand, which includes a pair of… red-soled Mary Janes!!!
Accordingly named “Loubibaby,” these high-end takes on the Mary Jane silhouette are Louboutin’s first foray into designing shoes for children, according to Footwear News. The model comes in pink and blue satin, and shiny gold, with a neat bow positioned on the strap of each flat. And of course, they each feature the brand’s signature red sole. (Never mind that its wearers won’t really be able to walk in them…and will likely outgrow them long before they learn how to say “Louboutin.”)
The Loubibabys are available starting November 16 on goop.com and the Goop holiday pop-ups in New York, Los Angeles and Miami. Oh, and by the way, they do come with a price tag of $250 because even if they can’t talk or walk or shop yet, classy baby girls do appreciate a good label.
“I remember the first conversation which led us to the collaboration,” Louboutin said of his first foray into baby shoes. “There is nothing that I favour more than a good tete-a-tete, and for that, Gwyneth is a great partner in crime. When friendship meets work, the results are serious fun.”, Mr. Christian said about collaborating with his good friend and partner, Gwyneth Paltrow.
“Goop’s fashion ethos has always centred on trendless quality,” Paltrow added. Of the four women’s designs that accompany the cutesy children’s pump – a point-toe pump, Parisian pump, ankle boot and loafer – the actress noted: “It was an honour to work with Christian and his team to design the quintessential collection of fall classics: true investment pieces that we – and eventually our daughters and nieces – will wear for years.”
Do we hear Christmas bells ringing???
