Hip Hip, Hurray! It’s that time of the year again: when we pretend we are celebrating our kids, but we’re actually just finding the perfect excuse to have one too many Margaritas by the pool while pretending to watch over them play on inflatable kiwis. Oh no, that was just my imagination speaking. Actually, we’re far from getting a tan by the pool, or even sipping on colourful cocktails. To me, Children’s Day is simply the perfect day to do what I like best: laze around. That meaning, be lazy, and if you didn’t know that was a verb, well now you do.
So what does one do when caught up on such a cute (and thankfully, cloudy and chilly) day, at home, with the kids? Or actually just ONE kid, but I always tend to say it as if there are more, because it just sounds so much better. So at home, with the KID. Well, first of all you wake up late. Very late, and then you try and convince him to go to his dad and tell him that mommy wants some coffee delivered, in bed. But this doesn’t work, because he says ‘cocoa’ instead of ‘coffee’ so daddy doesn’t really understand and doesn’t deliver the coffee for mommy in bed, so mommy needs to get up herself and do it. And then naturally, the next thought she gets: what’s for breakfast? And judging by what has been said above, it is going to be something yummy and quick as well.
What about a pink smoothie? Done. Mix frozen blueberries, strawberries, bananas, some yoghurt and oats and you got yourself a cold, delicious breakfast smoothie that your kid will love just as much as you do. Try to also take some pictures in the meantime, but he’s not into it, because lately it’s been a ‘no pictures please’ phase, and so it’s only possible when you act like the papparazzi.
So anyways, we have the smoothie, eat the breakfast, watch the cartoons, it’s 12 pm and we’re still in our Leveret pijamas. Isn’t this the life??? And also, how incredibly cute are this matching cow PJs??? They are organic cotton, super cozy and just perfect for days in. Whether your kiddos love farm animals, bees, birds, stripes or cars, there’s is nothing you can’t find at Leveret! And the best part is that the adult ones are just so matchy that you can’t handle it!
I know we won’t be able to do this forever, the school days will start, the hectic schedules will be on demand, but one thing is for sure: we’ll always have our lazy Sundays in bed. Thank God for that!
