If you don’t already know the dreamiest kids clothing brand, it’s time for you to meet Marie Chantal! The Crown Princess of Greece has chosen the ideal location for opening her new flagship store: Belgravia’s Motcomb Street, where neighbours include names like Christian Louboutin, Eres or Carolina Bucci. So the new Marie Chantal store can be found starting November 17th and will house all of the Marie-Chantal classics: from the brands iconic angel wing onesie to thoughtful baby gifts and seasonal collections for both boys and girls.
The new outpost is designed by Fran Hickman, who is also responsible for creating such spaces for Goop, Moda Operandi and Emilia Wickstead. Working side by side with Marie-Chantal, the two created a new shop that embodies the elegance of childhood, whilst also showcasing children’s clothing that are beautifully classic with a playful twist. The shelves and racks are lined with the finest, hand picked fabrics including soft Scottish wools, cashmere, hand designed floral prints on brushed cottons and silks.
Think powdery neutral shades and luxurious furnishings, and think the most perfect baby shower gift for those very chic new babies in your life!
Marie Chantal’s eye for fashion, mixed with her own children as her influence inspires each season. It’s here you can shop special occasion dresses, suiting for boys and a unique selection of curated jewelry, books and toys, all in an enchanting store built perfectly for a little prince or princess. Next time you find yourself in the neighborhood, stop in and be transported into the enchanting world that is Marie-Chantal.
Overseeing a new store opening, running a business, starting a book project, relaunching the website, and redesigning the packaging, in addition to the not inconsiderate feat of being a mother to five children (she has a daughter and four sons!), one wonders how she does it. “I’m good at prioritising, and I’m really fortunate to have a wonderful team in London,” she replies. And motherhood? “The kids are getting bigger now,” she reasons, “so I have more time to be focused on the brand.” She may have her hands full, but is never too busy to spend some time on her own shop floor (she grew up in retail and worked summer jobs in merchandising) so don’t be surprised if you bump into her at 4 Motcomb Street. “I’m the one fussing around or teaching the girls how to display. Actually,” she reconsiders, “I’m usually the one folding a sweater!”
You can find Marie-Chantal at Motcomb Street, London SW1X 8JU.
