Tiffany‘s 2016 Christmas Ad is here and it’s as sparkling and precious and glowing as always!
With Roberto Fonseca’s insistent, holy “Mi Negra Ave Maria” soundtrack on the background, Elle Fanning whirling and twisting around, Manhattan’s concrete canyons shimmer and shine and the Christmas spirit is settling in while gift boxes precious gems fall like snowflakes in the air.
Such is Ogilvy & Mather’s 2016 holiday commercial for Tiffany & Co., “Make the world sparkle!”, which also serves as a celebratory marker for the iconic luxury retailer’s 180th anniversary.
I for one rather got goosebumps with the 2015 Christmas ad; “A Tiffany holiday” -a romantic engagement winter story in the midst of New York. Can it get more magical than that?? Maybe an animated advert. Yes, they did that as well, and instead of sheets of snow, the city is filled with blankets of Tiffany jewels and diamonds. The spot takes the viewer on a journey down Broadway, through Central Park and throughout numerous holiday-themed buildings, each with its own story to tell.

In 2013, Tiffany & Co showed us that “The perfect holiday comes wrapped in blue” – how else? In that time of the year when everybody falls in love, the blue box becomes the quintessential surprise for a perfect Christmas with your loved ones. Children playing by the fireplace, men proposing to their beloved one, a curly-haired princess, an adorable pug, sumptuous gowns… they all have the little blue magic box in common.
One of the most magical ones was the 2010 Ad campaign on the soundtrack of “Have yourself a merry little Christmas” by Hem, photographed by the amazing Peter Lindbergh and featuring supermodel Doutzen Kroes.
A romantic date in the snow, a happy family with 2 kids walking by the Tiffany windows, a couple at a party… Love stories, snow, diamonds, and joy.
Put Tiffany and Christmas in the same sentence, and you make MAGIC.
