“She had to have her tights touch”.
Every girl dreams about having her own Barbie that looks like her, and for Ashley Graham, this dream came true!

2016 definitely began with a promising feminist progress, but won’t necessarily become history. However, this did not stop Barbie to come up with even greater diversity, this time by adding a new curvy image to their portfolio, a copy-paste Ashley Graham Barbie doll.
After adding three new body types (available in seven skin tones and even more hair and eye colors) at the beginning of this year to their ‘picture perfect’ portfolio, we now have Graham’s voluptuous mini-me in all its glory. And we all think it’s great news for girls all over the world.

It’s the latest in a long list of accolades for Graham, who was the first size 16 model to star on Sports Illustrated earlier this year, but there was one specification the toy company had to fulfill.”She had to have her thighs touch,” Graham told The Hollywood Reporter.
“No ands, ifs, or buts about it. And I asked for cellulite but obviously plastic and cellulite don’t go hand in hand. It was important that the Barbie resembled me as much as possible. The thighs touching was one way to show young girls that it’s OK for your thighs to touch, despite society saying that a ‘thigh gap’ is more beautiful.”
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model described her Barbie as “thick”,“sexy”, and with “custom hips” in front of rolling cameras last night, later saying that “she had to have her thighs touch.” Even Graham’s moles, which she likes to accentuate, were faithfully added, along with a bombshell blowout and fluttery lashes.

Ashley believes, like many other supporters of ani-body shaming, that this move will help ease criticism on women bodies all around, and encourage young girls to be proud of their bodies and not fall into the glossy magazine’s and perfect Barbie looks. Now they can see that Barbies can look like them, and they can be any Barbie.
